Why do we want to buy Halloween candy?
A diet that is high in sugar is proven to be pro-inflammatory and is horrible for the overall health of kids. Sugar, as a result, leads to obvious problems, such as cavities. According to some in the medical field, sugar might be responsible for more than just cavities and also making kids more hyperactive. Therefore, research is proving that some of the allergies, asthma, eczema, behavioral problems, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and most of all have one underlying cause with children: inflammation caused by high intakes of sugar on a daily basis.
What is inflammation in kids?
Inflammation in kids itself isn’t a bad thing. It is a natural way for kid’s bodies to respond to stress or foreign particles. Consequently, the problem is when this response is chronic to their health in addition to the immune system can become affected. It has been proven there is a strong connection between kid’s diet with high sugar content, also their digestive system, and inflammation. With this all pointing to the important fact, a diet full of simple sugar leads to multiple health problems that can start out as eczema, behavioral problems or getting colds more often.
How much sugar is too much sugar for kids?
According to a study done by the American Heart Association, children as young as 1 to 3 years old already consume about 12 teaspoons of sugar per day, in addition, older children in-taken even more than that due to hidden sugars in a kids diet.
