Our Summer Special: What is included with Free Teeth Whitening ?
Here at Nebraska Family Dentistry, we believe that your smile says more about you than any other physical feature. A beautiful, white smile is one of the fastest ways to make a great impression.
We are proud to offer Summer Special: Free Teeth Whitening for new patients (after they have full exam and x-rays) at any of our four locations this winter.
This Summer we offer free teeth whitening solution (to take home) that is custom made specifically for you. Over-the-counter teeth whitening treatments are not custom made for you and often lead to sensitivity and less desirable results. If it is determined that you are a good candidate for our at home free teeth whitening we will then begin by taking a mold of your teeth. These molds will be sent to our lab where your custom whitening trays will be fabricated. Because these trays fit your teeth perfectly, sensitivity is typically a rare occurrence.
Once your trays are ready you will be able to pick them up along with professional level bleach and a member of our team will go over with you how to use them. In-home whitening affords you the ability to whiten as often as you would like to achieve your desired results. While the bleach given to you is a professional strength bleach, there is only a certain percentage we are able to give for use outside of the office so you will achieve results over time as opposed to a drastic, instant change like our one-hour in office professional bleaching. Even though results are gradual, the percentage of bleach in our take-home kit is still much higher than the 5-14% solution contained in over-the-counter treatments.
Free Teeth Whitening- Your Questions Answered
How Does the Free Teeth Whitening Process Work?
Whitening your teeth is a chemical process. The peroxide ingredient in the whitening agent breaks down into the molecules that move inside the tooth structure where they break down any molecules that cause discoloration. With this process, even if the entire tooth isn’t covered with the whitening gel the entire tooth will lighten. The internal tooth color is simply lightened and the structure of the tooth is not altered. The whitening agents also do not harm enamel, dentin, and current fillings and cements.
How Long Do Whitening Results Last?
The results of the whitening are very stable. However, it does also depend on your nutrition and lifestyle habits and may need to be repeated. Due to the safety of the whitening agents, repeated treatments should not cause any concerns.
Will Whitening Cause Tooth Sensitivity?
One of the most common side effects of whitening is sensitivity. The sensitivity is only temporary and should disappear after the whitening is completed. We do ask that you contact us if you do have lingering sensitivity, so we can discuss desensitizing treatments.
